Brides who wear glasses

I remember a couple of years back during a fab trip to Las Vegas (vegas baby!) that I spotted brides all over the place… but the only one I actually remember is the one who wore glasses. Stood on the steps of the Venetian wearing a white tulle princess style gown (think big skirt and nipped in bodice) with her blonde hair in an up do, she was wearing thinly framed glasses.

It had never occured to me until then what the eyesight challenged would wear on their wedding day. The point is the bride not only looked stunning but best of all she could see where she was going. You can always take them off for pics if you really want to.

A friend of mine has shiny new glasses for her wedding. she’d always worn glasses and it seemed silly to switch to contacts for the sake of a few photos.

If you tend to wear glassesd everyday they become part of you, so ti would be very odd to take them off for the photos, any more then it would be changing your hair a drasticlally differnt colour for the ceremony.

I haven’t thought about new glasses for the wedding, but that’s a nice idea.

I have to say that, having been asked by our photographer if I’d be wearing my glasses for the wedding, that it does really annoy me that anyone would think that someone who wears glasses all the time would even think of wanting to take them off for wedding photos. Why look completely different to normal, just because you’re getting married? Plus, I wouldn’t be able to see a thing anyway!

T H A N K Y O U ! ! ! Finally! Someone understands about wearing glasses. I wear very noticable black-framed plastic glasses every day, and I’m not about to take them off for my wedding. But everyone from my makeup artist to my florist has tried to convince me to “just wear contacts.” Like my face should be completely different from normal because I’m getting married?

I’m having the same predicament. My friends are shocked when I said that I just assumed I would wear my glasses for my wedding day. My fiance wears glasses as well, and although I used to wear contacts for about five years, I had to stop because they hurt my eyes too much. My eyes won’t focus sans-glasses because of my less-than-great vision, so not wearing glasses is not even an option. All I know is that I want to see my fiance when I walk down the aisle, and I’m sure he wants to see the same girl he’s known for the last five years… not some girl without glasses, stumbling into a pew.

I have worn glasses since I was 9 (I’m 27 now) & have bad short-sight, I’m getting married next August & everyone convinced me to wear contacts. I bought some recently as I thought I should get used to them before the wedding but all my friends & family that saw me (especially my fiance) said I didn’t look right & that it wasn’t “me”. I am now buying some nice simple delicate frames for the wedding instead (my usual pairs are dark frames), as I’m not ashamed of wearing glasses, they are part of who I am just like my tattoos (which I am not going to cover up). I’d like better makeup tips for brides with glasses though!
