This has to be one of the worst things that could happen to you on the eve of your wedding (barring natural disasters and items of that ilk of course). Emma Moschakis went to decorate her reception venue the evening before her wedding only to find that a malicious caller had cancelled the event. She told BBC News, ‘I just felt sick. I could not believe it was happening and I just ran out the door in tears.’ Entirely understandable! Fortunately the couple had a supportive cast of friends and family who rallied around to find a venue at short notice for the 100 guests. The incident is now being investigated by police.
I can’t possibly imagine how the caller got away with this meanness or why the venue didn’t even think to send out a cancellation notice but it does make one think – agree any cancellation procedures with your venues and suppliers in advance so that you get written notification and should anyone be nasty enough to try this stunt then their evil machinations will be nipped in the bud.
