Yay or Nay Wednesday

Yaynay18octLast week’s vote on the volumous steel grey-blue gown surprised me as it got a majority of yays for it’s rich tone. You can pick it up at Romantica of Devon.

Yesterday our Bag Lady chum and Bridalwave columnist Amber declared that the ‘stick a corsage on everything’ style is well and truly played out and that got me thinking; floral corsages are frequently used on wedding dresses, like the corsage displayed on the front of this waffle organza and chantilly lace trimmed dress… but are the flowers over? Yay or Nay and why?

  • In the eyes of the fashion world corsages can be seen as a bit “Sex and the City”, but I personally still love them – my dress doesn’t have a corsage, but I’m thinking of adding one. So it’s a YAY from me 🙂

  • I don’t mind the flowers on this. The rest of it however… well its a bit fluffy for me.

  • Just about a nay. It’s a bit candyfloss-esque, and doesn’t look like it fits very well. Just not very flattering.

isn’t there a tradition in the states for a bridal
shower of making a dress from toilet paper? that’s what this looks like to me!

One of my best friends viewed T. Mac’s (Tracey McGrady – basketball player) wedding photo’s and I was so so about CleRenda Harris’ “gown”. It was as deep in the neckline as it was in the back. I thought it was risque and she thought it would be perfect for her size 0 butt. I think i’ll email this pic to her as a better suggestion. This is one of those times that a cotton candy skirting would work.

As for the corsage, it’s probably the only type of dress that can get away with it. Yay!
