Wedding websites – do you have one?

By admin on November 23rd, 2006 4 comments

Website_1 Perhaps unusually, given that my fiance is a website designer by trade, we don’t have a wedding website. That’s not to say that we won’t ever have one – I think it could be quite a nice way to give guests extra information about the venue, transport, accommodation etc – we just haven’t got round to it yet.

These kind of websites are becoming increasingly popular, and they can be a good way to let your guests know a bit more about what they can expect on the day itself, or just to record the process of planning your wedding. If/when we do set up a wedding website, we’ll obviously make our own, but if you’d rather just log on somewhere and create your site in the click of a mouse-button, I’ve found these sites which allow you to do just that:

Wedding Path
A very popular site with free website, profile page and blog, plus a selection of templates that you can change as many times as you like. There’s also a wedding forum if you fancy chatting to the other brides (and grooms!) on the site.

A US-based service, with loads of features including your own free domain, unlimited photos and some very impressive-looking flash templates. You can also choose to password-protect certain pages of your site if you’d rather keep some of the details visible only to your guests.

The Wedding Channel
The Wedding Channel is a huge site with lots of information for brides and grooms to be, as well as a free website package including photo albums and guest book.
Another US-based site, with a handy feature which allows your guests to RSVP online, helping you to easily keep track of the responses.

Do you have a wedding website? Will you be getting one? And, more importantly, are you willing to post the URL and let us have a look?

Make sure to checkout BridalFever at It’s a social wedding network where you can connect with other brides and vendors. They also provide free flash based wedding websites with over 30 unique designed templates which are very customizable.

  • Though Bridal Fever is a nice social network for brides with a wonderful selection of websites – I must caution couples to realize that the images in the vendor pages 1) are not the work of the photographers that are listed but not registered and 2) May not be the work of registered photographers and there is no way of knowing. Because – if a photographer does not upload their own photographs – the rotating stock images will stay on the vendor’s page.

  • Another website that you forgot to cover in the article is

This is a recently setup a wedding website that allows couples to create a professional looking wedding website for free!

Please help! I’m getting married next year and we’ve decided we want the groom and groomsmen in pinstripe suits but it seems easier said than done! We’ve hunted high and low and drawn a blank everytime because we want black suits with quite bold stripes but the one’s we’ve looked at are quite plain and the stripe isn’t very visible. Hiring or buying are both options but we are on a reasonable budget so can’t afford to go too crazy! Is there anything you can suggest? I’ve just about given up hope…..
