Perhaps unusually, given that my fiance is a website designer by trade, we don’t have a wedding website. That’s not to say that we won’t ever have one – I think it could be quite a nice way to give guests extra information about the venue, transport, accommodation etc – we just haven’t got round to it yet.
These kind of websites are becoming increasingly popular, and they can be a good way to let your guests know a bit more about what they can expect on the day itself, or just to record the process of planning your wedding. If/when we do set up a wedding website, we’ll obviously make our own, but if you’d rather just log on somewhere and create your site in the click of a mouse-button, I’ve found these sites which allow you to do just that:
Wedding Path
A very popular site with free website, profile page and blog, plus a selection of templates that you can change as many times as you like. There’s also a wedding forum if you fancy chatting to the other brides (and grooms!) on the site.
eWedding
A US-based service, with loads of features including your own free domain, unlimited photos and some very impressive-looking flash templates. You can also choose to password-protect certain pages of your site if you’d rather keep some of the details visible only to your guests.
The Wedding Channel
The Wedding Channel is a huge site with lots of information for brides and grooms to be, as well as a free website package including photo albums and guest book.
MyWedding.com
Another US-based site, with a handy feature which allows your guests to RSVP online, helping you to easily keep track of the responses.
Do you have a wedding website? Will you be getting one? And, more importantly, are you willing to post the URL and let us have a look?
