Yay or Nay Wednesday

By admin on November 22nd, 2006 5 comments

Last week’s knee length dress got a mixed bag of responses but mostly you all thought it was quite a young look that would be lovely for a very informal wedding. You can get it from Watters and there’s a full length version too.

We’re used to seeing embroidery and beading by the bucket load on the outside of the dress but I wondered what you thought about seeing the details from the inside? I’m referring to the ruffles of lace that you see on the neckline of the bodice and under the high cut of the skirt hem. Yay or Nay and why?

  • In general, I don’t like the multi-tier things–look too much like bed shams. But…this is a lovely dress. So I’m yay-ing.

This is a YAY. Love this dress and wish my figure would allow me to wear something like this but unfortunately “mermaid” style shape does not suit me one jot. With this dress the style is simple enough – and the fabric looks expensive enough – to carry of the lace ruffles IMHO.

  • Yay! This is actually one of the dresses I seriously considered when I was dress hunting – so pretty!

I agree with Chaser. My mind tells me no, but it’s actually quite elegant, so why not? A yay from me!

Beautiful. Proves that a lot of things can work, if done right. It’s just that so many do it wrong….
Yay from me on this one
