Theknot_trendsThe Knot have just produced their hot trends for 2007, so if you’re planning a wedding for next year, this is what they think you might have in store.

1. Orange – the colour, not the fruit, will permeate everything from bridesmaid dresses to cakes, flowers and decorations. Pair it with red or raspberry pink to keep it hot and informal, or chocolate to tone the colour down. They also predict a rise in aqua and aubergine as favoured shades.

2. The trumpet skirt. Move over ballgowns, this fit and flare shape gives a great silhouette with ease of movement.

3. Italy. It’s beautiful and boasts some of the world’s most romantic cities – Florence, Rome and Venice – not to mention great cuisine and stunning locations. Head there to wed or take your honeymoon here.

4. Cocktail hour – canapes and hor d’oeuvres served with signature cocktails are the way forwards for sophisticated couples.

5. Dessert buffets – we all love a sweet treat and a dessert station filled with mini treats like truffles and slices of pie will delight guests. If they can get past me.

6. Honeymoons – always in vogue but now honeymooners are taking once in a lifetime trips.
