Eva Longoria’s wedding dress dilemma: Monique Lhuillier or Angel Sanchez?

Oh, to be Eva Longoria! The Desperate Housewives star is getting married to fiance Tony Parker this year, but the poor love is struggling to decide who will design her gown. She’s narrowed it down to two "finalists": the chosen designer will be either Monique Lhuillier (who designed the dress on the left of this picture) or Angel Sanchez (whose dress is on the right). Slightly strangely, the decision for Eva seems to come down to nationality: like Eva herself, Angel Sanchez is of Mexican origin, while Lhuillier is French, like Tony Parker.

I have to admit it didn’t occur to me to even consider the nationality of my dress designer when I picked my dress (did it occur to anyone else?!), so going purely on design, I think I’d go for Monique, personally. Who would you choose?

monique is pure filipino, not half and half. the surname is french sounding because her great great (to the nth power) grandparents were foreign merchants. and castillian, ironically. in the philippines, when you say lhuillier, the first thing you think of is pawnshop. her family, or maybe relatives, are known for being jewelers in the philippines. you must be sleeping now.
