When someone says ‘princess dress’ this is the style of dress I think about. The colour is blush pink rather than the more popular white and the bodice is a strapless, lacy creation.

The skirt of course is pretty wide but it’s not just the mass of tulle you would expect from a dress of this style. Instead the overskirt is swooping and gathered, just low enough not to hang on the hips fortunately, and joined with a trailing deeper pink corsage and tassle ensemble. The gathers and corsage are repeated at the back with a short train.
