I really love the shorter wedding dresses like this Watters lace jacket and dress. They are really great for brides who want to do white but don’t want to go the whole big white wedding dress route. Another plus point is you can dress this style up to be young and cool with large hair blooms and strappy sandals or go sophisticated with a bouquet of calla lilies.
After the wedding, unlike most dresses, you’ll definitely wear this style again. Get it professionally dyed pink or honey and you have a great garden party outfit. Or opt for a darker colour and you have a pretty evening dress.
As for the worst frock…
Short dresses are definitely in, layered dresses are cool, but big heavy flounces that look like four seperate skirts piled on on top of the over are a big no-no, just like Frock Horror 46. The top layer serves to make hips look big, the second stands too far away from the knee to make it a knee-length style… then there’re the third and fourth layers. If that wasn’t bad enough, what’s with the frilly front and ruffled collar?
