Slinky, sexy sheath dresses are another big favourite amongst brides to be. Here’s how to wear them…
What are sheath dresses?
Close-fitting and slinky, the sheath dress clings to your body from neck to hip, before either flaring gently out around the knees or hanging down to your feet.
Who should wear them?
This is the style of choice for the body conscious bride. A sheath dress will show off your figure, and will cling to every lump and bump. They’re perfect for confident women who want to look sleek and sophisticated on their wedding day, and will tend to look best on tall, slim types, and will also flatter hourglass figures.
Who shouldn’t wear them?
While close-fitting styles are great for those who want to display their figures, if you’re not comfortable putting everything on show, this isn’t the look for you. Choose something that will hide the parts you want to hide and emphasise the parts you don’t instead. Pear or apple shaped women will find A-line dresses or ballgowns more flattering.
Because this is such a simple style of dress, you can choose to either keep your accessories simple too, or really go to town. A chapel length veil can add drama to a sheath style, but a short, shoulder-length number can look good too.
