OxfamAn Oxfam wedding dress. Sounds a bit tragic, doesn’t it? Thankfully the reality is a whole lot different. Over 95% of the gowns sold are brand new and orginate from catwalk shows and wholesale retailers. Sizes range from 8 to 24 and each dress is around £250 each – a figure Oxfam says will help provide 100 people with clean water, built two toilets, train one midwife and feed a family for a month. They’ll also accept donated dresses if you want to pass on yours.

Specialist Oxfam shops can be found in Bracknell, Bradford, Cambridge, Chippenham, Coventry, Heswall, Eastbourne, Leicester, Pinner, Poole and Southampton – full addresses and more details here.
