Yay or Nay Wednesday

By admin on February 28th, 2007 10 comments

Last week I asked you about a wedding sari in brilliant red and gold and you all said yay even though some of you wouldn’t wear it without a connection to Asian culture. You can find it at for $700.

Will this week’s dress be a tough one I wonder? It’s white and long and the sheer fabric over the shoulders with neat bow at the collar is quite cute, but what do you make of those vertical strips that follow the line of the dress before falling in a rough-edged undone fashion? You can tell it’s a catwalk picture so for extra virtual points, which designer is responsible? Yay or Nay and why?

Nay…I don’t know, it just looks too futuristic I think…like something out of Blake’s 7 or similar!

  • Juji

It weirdly reminds me of something architectural or it could be a dress inspired by a shredder. Definately a Nay, especially because of the netting neckline, wrong on so many levels.

  • Lulu

Ew. She is dressed in a white picket fence, and it appears that some sort of albino ostrich has impaled itself on the fence. (What is that featherey thing trailing behind her?) Nay!

I never thought I was traditional until I saw this….I really don’t like it, it looks like it’s half finished!

  • Helen

I like the shape of the neckline and sleeves, but there are just too many other things wrong with it….the net top, crazy unfinished bottom, stripy middle – no no no! I do quite like the ostrich though….

  • Nay! It reminds me of a row of skyscrapers, which is probably not the look most women are looking for on their wedding day.

Oh, and I think the dress is Chanel SS07?

  • Jaime

NAY! What is the WITH the netting?

  • this is a COMPLETE nay! unless, of course, you are getting married a some type of duct tape convention…
