Jeweller Alistir Tait is offering couples the chance to get their wedding bands made from rare Scottish gold which is said to be amongst the purest in the world. Alistir says, “People come from all over the world to be married in Scotland and what better way to remember that special day than with a ring of rare Scottish gold. It really is a lifelong, precious memento.”

One happy couple is David Bond and Maura Kelly who found gold on a field trip to Perthshire with their university. They waded through freezing water panning for enough gold nuggets for Alistir to create their wedding bands.

The 24 planned bands in the collection will all be crafted from 18c gold and sold exclusively at Alistir’s Edinburgh shop. Prices will range from £600- £1200.
