Sara Dutton is a Bath based jeweller who is taking the idea of DIY jewellery one step further and enabling you to make your own unique jewellery under her expert guidance. She trained with bespoke tiara makers Frankham-Hughes and now offers workshops using Precious Metal Clay where you can create your own bespoke pieces.

“Precious Metal Clay consists of fine silver particles combined with an organic, non-toxic, binder and water which turns it to clay. It can be carved, moulded, fingerprinted and is extremely malleable making it a great deal of fun and accessible for many to enjoy. When fired it leaves silver that is 99.9% pure and can be hallmarked as fine silver,” says Sara.

“Beautiful designs can be produced – from leaf necklaces and more unusual shapes to hearts and flowers. You can get very creative and make something totally unique. People can make a pendant for a special day with a date or initials carved on the back.”

Sara’s workshop will be open to the public on 5th May, at 12 Monmouth Place on the Upper Bristol Road in Bath with the first workshop starting on Sunday 13th May for £85 which includes tuition, materials and equipment.
