Wolverhampton designers Coconut recently highlighted their creations at a packed wedding showcase of Mildands creative talent.

This is an intricate green and gold ceremonial wedding sari in antique gold silk. The blouse has been heavily embellished both front and back, with a scoop neckline. Embellished capped sleeves add to the glamour.

The dress is fully lined and has metal sequins and imitation mirror work. Designer Saroj was showing it off as one of several in a collection which she says is designed to help make women feel confident.

Beautiful and ornate pashminas and jewelled bags from Coconut were also on display the Village Hotel in Walsall in an event that drew record crowds and boosted bookings for the hotel which is keen to attract more Asian couples for their big day.

Organiser Katie Love said that the variety and beauty of designs on display had taken her breath away. Marquees, photography, entertainment and catering were among services also featured. Watch this space for more news of the best the Midlands can offer.

Just because Liz Hurley or Shilpa Shetty have never made it this far up the M6, we can still take their influence and dazzle! [Linda]
