Yay or Nay Wednesday

By admin on May 9th, 2007 6 comments

The all embroidered look hasn’t always won you over in previous Yay or Nays but how does this dress grab you? It’s a neutral colour scheme with strapless top and a slightly frilly hem. Matched with simple accessories like the pearls, white shoes and wrist corsage and it comes off as a look that appears casually put together but you can tell it took a lot of thought. So, yay or nay and why?

Last week there was a slim sheath embroidered dress for you to vote on. It got slightly more yays than nays with Sarah correctly identifying it as a Pronovias dress.

Nay, I don’t like the frill at the bottom. It reminds me of a bed underskirt thing my mum used to have!

Nay. The bedskirt/curtain ruffle hem kills the look. Also, maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me, but is that *writing* on the dress???

Yay – but then it’s not too dissimilar to my own wedding dress. Not sure on the valance effect at the bottom.

Totally Yay… this is nothing like my own dress choice but I think on the right person, it would look fantastic

I like the embroidery but not the frill. Because the body is so detailed I think it’d look best contrasted with a very simple shape dress – and the bottom bit kills that. I’m still going with “yay” though, it might look better when she’s standing up.

i really like the embroidery too, and i think, excluding the hem, it’s quite simple but elegant. i hate the frilly hem, makes the dress look… cheap? frumpy? something like that. but it’s still a yay for me.
