Yay or Nay Wednesday

By admin on May 16th, 2007 6 comments

I quite like the black trend for weddings. It can add a really glam look to bridesmaids and dramatic detail to the bride’s dress. I’m not sure this one is the best ever design though. The two tone bodice is attractive and the sweep overskirt quite popular at the moment, but those black flowers look stencilled and amateurish. What do you think? Yay or nay and why?

Last week’s embroidered sheath dress largely got a yay vote from our stylish readers though that hem ruffled a few feathers and we generally agreed, it would have looked better without the pelmet. You can get ‘Anais’ from Charlotte Balbier.

I can’t help feeling that a printed section or even large 3D flowers would be better then the stencil effect.

It might be the model but it looks like it has a hump on one side. A nay here.

  • I love the idea – but I think the black is to harsh for the flowers. If it was in a lighter color like pale pink or rum pink, it would look amazing.

Ooh, a little bit devilish, and just a little bit imperfect. I like the harshness of black on white contrasting with the softness of draping in the bodice… looks wonderful! Yay from me!

It’s the flowers that nake it a total no from me

i’m getting married next year and am having a black, white and pink wedding and am looking for a black and white gown…this one would certainly be on the bottom of my list..the flowers are way too much
