Stevie Wonder has always been a reliable source of funk and groove, and whilst ‘I just called to say I love you’ might be one of his most famous songs, you might want to avoid it purely on originality scores. Thus I bring to you a lesser known gem from his back-catalogue: ‘I believe (when I fall in love with you)’ from the 1972 album Talking Book. You might also recognise it from the High Fidelity soundtrack, which means your bloke will probably like it too. Just mind you type in the full name when you’re searching for it, otherwise you could end up with all sorts of Robson and Jerome terrors.
