Whilst perusing my collection this week, I came across an album that hasn’t been played in a long while. One of my best friends used this song as her first dance, and I thought at the time that it was a great choice, so now I’m gonna steal it!
Stand By My Woman by Lenny Kravitz is a gorgeous ballad from the 1992 album Mama Said. I try and avoid gender-specific songs as I prefer a balanced first dance(!) but this is a piece of rock smooch perfect for getting meaningful to. Oh, and if you want a shorter dance, go for Butterfly, at the end of the album – Two for the price of one today!
