Subtitled “How I survived my ex-boyfriend’s wedding with my dignity ever-so-slightly intact”, Brenda Janowitz’s debut novel is the story of lawyer Brooke Miller who finds herself having to attend her ex’s glamorous Hollywood wedding soon after the man she thought she was going to marry summarily dumps her. So she convinces her friend and colleague, Jack, to go to the wedding with her and pretend to be her fiance. And Scottish. I’m reading Scot on the Rocks at the moment and it’s great fun.
