How I love Ikea. Not only can I spend whole days in the store, I can lose whole days reading the catalogue, but I never thought about spending my wedding night there. (Oh, come off it, yes I did!)
And now, according to the Guardian, my dream may become reality. Ikea Norway is opening the Ikea Hostel, where customers can stay overnight if they haven’t finished their shopping. And if that wasn’t exciting enough, there’s going to be a bridal suite, with “a round bed and a hanging chandelier”.
Guests can check in from 10pm, an hour before closing time, but will have to be out by 10 the following morning. Plus they’ll be able to take their bedsheets home afterwards. “It’s a nice souvenir,” said spokesman Frode Ullebust (I love that name). “We will also give them bathrobes with the Ikea Hostel logo on, and some slippers, so they won’t get cold at night.”
If that wasn’t all fabulous enough, none of the guests will be charged for their stay, which will include free dinner and breakfast at the canteen. I can see what we’ll be doing for our next anniversary.
