Writing for Bridalwave, I often discuss wedding things with friends, and managed to find a friend (a musician no less) who had not considered what her first dance would be, not ever! I mean what kind of bird is she? A quick flick through her ipod showed up a plethora of options, and it was as we’d gone off the subject (easily done when geeking over gadgets and music) that she came up with a blinder.
Sam Cookes ‘You Send Me’ was a single in 1957, which went on to be voted #115 in Rolling Stone magazine’s The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. That being said, I have to insist you check out the cover by the Steve Miller Band, (from the 1976 album Fly Like an Eagle) which provides an altogether different version – fantastically musical, with a little bit of Steve Miller edge, but no less heartfelt. I had some trouble finding a freebie version you could listen to (that’s how original it is!) but try here: Windows Media Player Version – iTunes USA
