You’re just minding your own business in the supermarket, trying to work out the difference between the organic and non-organic cashews, when, from round the back of the aubergines, emerges Michael Aspel, with a familiar red book in his hand. Ok, this is unlikely to happen unless you are perhaps, Nigella, but I’ve found a company who can give you the experience in a really special way.
The Red Book Company does exactly that: gorgeous quality, bound, red books, containing unique tributes, anecdotes, memories and photographs from friends and family. They will contact all contributors (a standard book has 10, but you can add more if you wish) and they can provide up to 3000 words and 8 photographs each. The Red Book Company then collate, proof-read and edit all of these into a truly personal tome, finished in buckram or leather, and boxed beautifully, making a future heirloom.
Standard buckram-bound books start at £780, which may seem a bit steep, but if you consider that you might have several people contributing, I think this could be an immensely individual and touching gift for your best friends.
