One of our readers suggested romcom Runaway Bride for our second installment of Brides on Film. In the movie, Julia Roberts plays Maggie who despite seemingly wanting to get married has a tendency to do a last minute flit leaving her numerous husbands-to-be standing at the altar. Finally, after agreeing to marry Ike, an investigative reporter covering Maggie’s story, she even does a moonlight flit on him thus confirming her not so nice reputation as the runaway bride. I’ve rounded up images of a couple of the dresses she wore so click on over to see the other one and compare the very different styles. All dresses from the film were rumoured to have been designed by costume designer Albert Wolsky or Amsale with shoes by Peter Fox. At least one of the dresses was later auctioned for charity.
Another wedding dress from the film.
