Pirate brides at Jean-Paul Gaultier
I wonder if Gaultier was watching Pirates of the Caribbean when he came up with his latest collection featuring high fashion pirates. You can be sure that if you bumped into this lot in a dark alley, you'll be parted with your gold dubloons quick sharp! The big news, however, is that sashes are out and belts are in (just as I predicted: one point, me!)
From left, we've got swathes of transulucent fabric fashioned into skinny trousers and a tunic top (I spy nipple) with a low slung belt, feather plume and finished off with a cape. Middle, Edwardian pirate with antique lace and corset belt and right, the most wearable dress of the trio has an ankle length tulle skirt and jewel-clasp belt.
