Guest Fashion: What to wear when you’re expecting

Finding clothes during pregnancy is enough of a nightmare without having to search out something to wear for a wedding. So, don’t worry, I’ve done it for you. I was thinking of the reception when I was putting this together, but swap the shoes and bag, pull on a wrap and the dress would work for the day too.

The dress is from Isabella Oliver and costs £90. My wrap dress and trousers from Isabella Oliver saw me through the entire pregnancy (and, I must admit, I’ve worn the dress a time or two since as well). The fabric is cool and comfortable and the ruffles add a bit of a dressy aspect.

The bow clutch bag is from Next, costs just £18 and has a wrist strap, so that you don’t have to worry about leaving the bag anywhere (pregnancy forgetfulness may be denied by scientists, but it was a fact for me).

The shoes, with that all-important wedge heel – no pregnant woman should subject herself to stilettoes, are also from Next, cost £35 and, along with the bag, add a bit of sparkle. Plus the whole outfit doesn’t scream wedding so you’ll get use out of everything during the rest of the pregnancy.
