Just the Thing gift registry launched for unconventional gifts

Planning your gift list but wishing there was something else on offer than a truckload of china and more toasters than you can shake a stick at? Wish you could just register anything? Well, it might not be traditional but you can do it with Just the Thing a new gift registry service. Whether you would like something towards your honeymoon, home improvements, charity contributions, a great piece of furniture or anything else you can think of, you can registry them with this service.

The service is also combined with a website so that you can keep everyone up to date and even receive online RSVPs. You rsite can also be personalised with photographs, maps, videos, stories and more using a selection of themes. There isn't a set up or running charge but a fee of 7.25% of gift contributions is charged which can either by borne by you or the gifter.

Great review, thanks for the link. Their wedding website themes are nice but even better is the very tasteful way couples can now receive cash without actually having to ask for it.

My sister has a loft full of ugly dishes and tablecloths she never wanted but got for her wedding. I means, tablecloths??! Really?!

I'm planning on dividing up my registry between my honeymoon and a few essentials like a shiny 4-slice toaster.

Thanks for the (strangely direct and commercial) reply Brandon. Unfortunately you're a US company and I'm a UK bride. Also the Bridalwave review for 'Just the Thing' shows that their processing fee is less than yours. Sorry, I'll need to stick with this the Bridalwave recommendation for this one.

Thanks for the tip Bridalwave, the Missus and I signed up with Just the Thing a week ago and received our first gifts today. She's thrilled and I'm hooked on adding more info. We've got videos and interactive maps on our wedding site. Great Recommendation. Thanks.

Just The Thing's terms and conditions state that they charge VAT on top of the 7.25% service fee - so that's 8.5% in total. And they state that credit card payments will incur a processing fee (though they don't state how much). It's all a bit hidden, though.
