My favourite version of Till There Was You is by The Beatles (from With the Beatles or the BBC sessions collection and, in fact, the only Broadway tune the Beatles ever recorded), but there are numerous other versions available.
Originally from the 1957 musical The Music Man, the words are perfect for a first dance: “There were bells on a hill but I never heard them ringing, no I never heard them at all, till there was you.” Even if you don’t think you know it, you probably do and it’s certainly one that’ll get the older members of the wedding party’s feet tapping. Further, The Beatles’ version is only two minutes long, which may appeal to the groom.
