I love The Divine Comedy and my favourite songs of theirs are all on an EP called A Short Album About Love. How could they not be appropriate for a first dance?

Well, have you ever heard a Divine Comedy song? They wouldn’t fit into the traditional idea, but if you’re looking for something different, look no further. My pick would be “If” with its lyrics veering from the romantic – “If you were the night, I’d sleep in the day” to the, um, slightly less romantic: “If you were a horse, I’d clean the crap out of your stable and never once complain”. But be aware that it’s got a dramatic (and rather scary) ending.
