Spain’s Mar Menor certainly knows how to lure those thinking of eloping. There are around 300 sunny days a year (only 299 more than here then), an average temperature of 21 degrees celsius not to mention the blue skies and warm seas that flank the 5-star hotel.

For your wedding, staff are on hand from arranging photographers to ordering flowers to the blessing not to mention there to pamper you during your honeymoon, which, when you’re already on-site, starts straight away! If you are going to be joined by guests, they can fly in via airlines including Monarch, Easy Jet and Ryan Air making it quite affordable.

The hotel also has 64 rooms including seven suites, a golf course and a spa – the moorish-styled Royal Suite is a favourite for honeymooners. A two night honeymoon package including breakfast in bed, dinner in the hotel restaurant with wine for the first night and in your room with chocolates and cava on the second costs from around 979 euros.
