If you thought the Spring 2008 bridal collections were all about romantic A-lines, you were wrong. Many of the designers sent thoroughly modern designs down the catwalk that will inspire those who don’t subscribe to the fairytale bride idea. Anne Barge, left, showed off a champagne coloured silk jersey gown with ruched sleeves, a low back and duster train. Elizabeth Fillmore created a dramatic puff-sleeved jacket to go over a strapless lace gown, right.
Left, a short style at Platinum for Priscilla of Boston did away with the strapless prom look by opting for a ruffled halter neck and a billowing body with a satin hem. Right, halternecks also featured at Vera Wang with this one given a square neck, column style one-piece and duster train.
