Target uses virtual brides in runway show

In a somewhat intriguing move, Target have done away with actual live models in a fashion show due to be held in Manhattan’s Vanderbilt Hall, Grand Central Station, today and tomorrow in favour of holograms. Don’t check your calender, but yes, this is still 2007. Target senior vice president Trish Adams said in a statement, “This is the first time a fashion show will be completely produced with hologram technology, without models, without a runway and easily accessible to all fashion fans.”

The 3D holograms will transverse a virtual runway and model clothes including Isaac Mizrahi’s bridal range. Odd, yet cool and possibly quite brilliant PR. [Reuters]
