Cartier’s Love Bracelet has been worn by the female half of numerous iconic (albeit not particularly happy) couples – Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Cary Grant and Dyan Cannon, Ali McGraw and Steve McQueen, Sophia Loren and Carlo Ponti, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor … Nicole Appleton and Liam Gallagher (or was it Robbie Williams?) – but I can’t make my mind up about it.
The bracelet is locked around the woman’s wrist and the man keeps the screwdriver enabling him to be the only one to unlock it. I can’t decide if this is extremely romantic or a bit offensive. It was originally designed to be a modern interpretation of the chastity belt after all.
So what do you think? Would you wear one?

I remember Gary Barlow used to wear a Love bracelet for quite some time after his marriage. I think it is quite suited for guys, because the screws give it a very “manly” feeling.
Although I like the bracelet, and even the idea behind it, it’s not a piece I’m particularly interested in.
