Lions and tigers and weddings, oh my!

I saw actress turned environmentalist Tippi Hedren on the Ellen show last week and they were talking about the wild animal park she runs, Shambala. Then Ellen mentioned that you can stay there overnight in a private room and fall asleep to the sound of lions’ roars and I thought, wow, that sounds like a good place for a wedding night.

Along with the animals, there’s a waterfall, a midnight walk (to say goodnight to the animals), plus gourmet food and even a feather bed. Sounds blissful, but bliss is expensive – a minimum $3000 donation is required.

If that’s a little too exclusive for you, you can actually get married at Shambala. You will enjoy a “unique, tranquil, magnificent, unforgettable day full of fascination, adventure and love with the Wild Ones of Shambala”. Sounds good, no?

Costs $60 per person for 35 or more or the equivalent donation of $2100 for fewer than 35.

And if you decide to get married there, can you make sure you invite me? Please?
