Naturally what struck me about this dress is that band of embroidery that spans the dress under the ruched and folded bust. It stops the dress being too sheet like and too underdressed, instead providing it with an unbtrusive oomph. Do you like it – yay or nay and why?

Last week you loved that simple silk dress with several correct guesses – yes, it’s from JCrew and costs $225. You can also get it in espresso and black which would make great bridesmaid dresses.

Actually I kind of love this dress. It would look a bit homely on me personally, but I think the empire waist detailing is a nice touch that puts it firmly over the boring, strapless dress line and into the romantic, fairytale princess category.

  • I say yay! I love a designer who knows the difference between a creative touch and doing too much

  • LOVE it!!! I like the beading, it makes it unique.

its a yay but I don’t love it, it looks like its sitting very low on the bust with all this bare chest ….not overly flattering on that model but the essence of the dress is nice – this week I have no clue where the dress is from!
