Many years ago, a shop such as Expectant Bride would be absolutely unthinkable. However, the first wedding shop purely for pregnant brides is now open for business. The designers are trained to estimate the size of the bride’s bump to ensure the dress is a good fit and ensures a flattering shape.
The idea was thought up by Tracey Wilkinson when she found herself in need of a maternity wedding dress and has since helped a further 150 brides. Four designers are stocked with prices ranging from £175 to £1200. Considering weddings often take a long time to plan, it’s hardly surprising that some couples find themselves expecting and pregnancy often prompts others to tie the knot. So, if you’re baking a baby, you know where to go! [source – thanks Claire!]
