Vivienne Westwood, Be de Lisi, Jenny Packham and co join Swarovski to ‘crystallize’ wedding frocks

Imagine a room covered ceiling to floor in Swarovski crystals. Now add in amazing couture wedding dresses by some of the country’s top designers (including Vivienne Westwood (above), Alice Temperley, Christopher Kane and Marios Schwab). Add champagne and fashionistas, and you’ve got the event I attended on Tuesday.

To celebrate the opening of a new wedding exhibition at Swarovski’s new CRYSTALLIZED™ Cosmos and Lounge in London, I sipped champagne on behalf of Bridalwave and Catwalk Queen, drooled over the amazing, sparkling creations and (of course) made sure to bring you all the pictures. Keep reading for loads of glitz!

The Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED™ Cosmos is a new concept shop full of every shape and size of Swarovski crystal you can imagine, allowing you to design your own perfect piece. Upstairs the lounge is a glam white and sparkly space which is currently hosting the
‘CRYSTALLIZED™ Wedding – The Marriage of Tradition and Avant Garde’ exhibition. This is the first time the exhibition has come to the UK and to celebrate a very British spin has been put on the whole affair. While the full collection (which can be seen in the delicious coffee table book ‘Unbridaled’) features creations from all over the world, the dresses and accessories on show in London are from UK-based or UK-centric designers. Think Julien Macdonald, Jonathan Kelsey, Ben de Lisi and Zandra Rhodes.

As someone whose first foray into the world of fashion was designing wedding dresses at nine years old, I felt like a bit of a kid in a candy store surrounded by all these frocks. Hopefully you’ll love them too!
