I hadn’t heard of Teitur until about five minutes ago, when I read one of his songs was recommended by Jason Mraz (who I adore) on iTunes. The song was Don’t Want You to Wake Up and Mraz describes it as “bliss vocals, gorgeous strings and tons of reverb.” So I checked it out. And he’s not wrong. It *is* a gorgeous song and it’s also highly romantic and so a perfect first dance song.
If you’re worried about the title – he doesn’t not want her to wake up in a, you know, having her killed kind of way, but more in a don’t want to wake up from our love, kind of way. Which is much better, I’m sure you’ll agree.
Oh and Teitur is a singer-songwriter from the Faroe Islands. Find Don’t Want You to Wake Up on his album, Stay Under the Stars.
