Fancy getting married on board ship? CruiseCritic have just let us know that they’ve compiled a comprehensive guide to getting wed at sea. Cruise ships can perform a wedding for you with packages that cover elements from the cake to photography and more. However, they do tell us that you’ll need to make sure the captain can perform a legal wedding and not just a ceremony with the legal bits and paperwork done in the terminal beforehand.

As a indicator of what to expect. P&O Cruises’ Weddings at Sea package starts from £699 and includes an indoor or outdoor ceremony venue, a ceremony conducted by the ship’s captain, flowers, music, champagne, a photographer, a wedding coordinator, invitations and thank you notes. Licensing fees will cost from £249. Add-ons can be requested and these include cake, reception parties and wedding albums.
