London’s Natural History Museum in South Kensington is one of the capital’s most iconic venues – though until now it wouldn’t have occurred to me as a wedding venue! It makes perfect sense though with its cathedral like proportions, intricate detailing, vast space and that famous Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton, its nothing if not dramatic! The Central Hall (with Rexy) holds from 100-650 people for dinner and 200-1200 people for a reception. You’ll have to have a big budget though – hall hire costs from £16,000.
Apparently there have been many spectacular weddings at the museum, one saw the Victorian staircase lit by hundreds of candles for an unforgettable grand entrance, another saw the entire floor covered in rose petals. The venue has also been turned into Moroccan Street Market!
