I’m quite into the idea of ‘weddings through the ages’ at the moment, and think it’s fascinating to see how what was considered the height of fashion one decade was often completely out of favour the next.
If I had my pick of any period in history to get married in,I think I’d have to choose the 1930s, as the silver-screen glamour and decadence of the age lends itself so well to a special occasion. But others are keen to evoke the blooming, voluminous styles of the ’50s, or adopt the intricate splendour of Victorian brides.
Circa Vintage Brides specialises in period bridalwear, so you can pick any era you want, even if it’s a less popular satorial decade i.e. 1970s (yes, even the trouser suit is lurking here somewhere)!
You’ll find swinging 60s short, kicky numbers here alongside full-skirted ’50s halter-neck garb, all made in England by Astral Sundholm-Hayes, an all-time lover of messing around in the dressing up box. Click here for stockists.
