Given what actually happened on her ill-fated ‘wedding’ day I can’t help being surprised at how many brides-to-be want to emulate Carrie Bradshaw’s look! But putting aside all that romantic stuff for a minute it’s not difficult to see why so many of us fell for the frock.
So many, in fact, that it’s still impossible to buy the Vivienne Westwood dress which sold out yesterday. Until now, we’d only clocked high-end designer styles similar to Carrie’s dress, but fear not: you can get a very reasonable homage to the style for $1125. It’s by Sarah Danielle Bridal and it’s remarkably similar to the dress worn by SJP in the film. Follow the jump for a back view of the dress.
Seen from the back, the dress reveals an attractive ribbon detail that must be pretty strong to hold all that heavy silk in place. There are even more ruffles from this angle, creating a mini-train that gives the dress real presence.
