Afternoon tea: the civilised hen party option!

By AbiSilvester on May 26th, 2009 1 comment

afternoon-tea.jpgOne of the best ‘hen nights’ I ever went to involved the great English tradition of Afternoon Tea. We arrived at one of London’s finest hotels (I honestly forget which, but most of them have got this nailed, I’m told!) where we were served round upon round of cucumber sandwiches, scones, sponge cake slices and cups of earl grey tea. It was all very civilised. At least, it was until they brought out the champagne…

So if that sounds like your idea of fun but you don’t want to blow the budget, why not think about creating your own tea time experience with friends?

Once you’ve found a space to host the event and decided on your designated cook(s) for the afternoon, the real fun starts as you pick out suitibly refined and girly-looking crockery. You might want to go for an Alice in Wonderland ‘mad tea party’ theme, or dig out some of your granny’s finest bone china (if you trust your friends, that is!) Martha Stewart Weddings has some fun ideas here for ‘bridal shower’ tea ideas, so why not browse it to get your imagination going?

  • hmm,,i like the idea,,but i like the most is the picture of cups at this its the snap which is making the post more attractive.
