Four folksy fascinators for Friday

folksy-fascinators.jpgNothing sets off a summer dress more prettily than a floral fascinator, so I’ve picked out a few of my favourite hand-made headpieces for you to check out today.

Since fascinators have become a bit ‘generic’ (I remember the days when people who know what they were called would try to show off their ‘new word’ in conversation), it’s become harder to track down really individual ones that aren’t too run-of-the-mill. All of these are hand-made, so you shouldn’t find yourself clashing with too many wedding guests if you choose to don one of these.

Read on over the jump for details of each item

From top left clockwise:

♥ Sweetheart swallow fascinator
Great if you want a nod towards the fifties or like the rockabilly style! This one has a tiny spotted veil and two swallow decorations. It’s handmade and available on Folksy for £25

Yellow knitted flower fascinator
Yellow’s the big accessory colour for summer weddings this year, so shine to your heart’s content in this unusual, knitted floral fascinator with tiny red beads. It is also hand-made at Folksy for just £9.50

Flower and feather mini-veil
The perfect, contemporary answer to the veil, this beautiful hairpiece with dewdrop birdcage veil is by Twigs & Honey. Contact for prices.

Rio de Janeiro black rose head piece
This large-sized sinamay and bow-shaped veil is attached via a comb and would look wonderfully dramatic at a gothic or alternative wedding. $45 on Etsy
