How to have a Star Trek wedding!

star-trek-wedding.jpgSince the release of the new, re-vamped Star Trek movie, being a trekkie is no longer something to be ashamed of (at least that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it!) so I wouldn’t be surprised if we were to see an upsurge in ‘trek’ themed weddings now. The Star Trek wedding chapel in Las Vegas may have closed its hydraulic doors for the last time, but there are still plenty of ways you can show your alligience to Starfleet on your big day if you really want to…

Ehow has some helpful suggestions on holding a Star Trek themed wedding here, with tips that include using the theme tune from the original series in place of the wedding march and playing some of ‘Uhura’s, Spock’s or even Picard’s greatest hits’ (no, I have no idea) on the disco.

Perhaps a simpler and less intrusive option is to nod towards your obsession, with a Star Trek wedding cake, but for the truly dedicated, you could choose to conduct the service in Klingon. I’m not sure about the terseness of some of the script, but it would certainly result in a shorter ceremony!

  • I’ve been seriously considering a star trek wedding. My other half and I are both trekkies through and through. It’s your wedding! You want to have a fun day, so why not? There’s a website I found (http://www.shadowdalecreations.com) and they make the starfleet dress uniforms. I think it would be so much fun to have the groomsmen in those, and then maybe a star trek wedding cake or something like that.
Anyone else have any good ideas?
