After all our wondering about how to send our invites out online, we finally sent them out over the weekend.
We decided to use Pinng which we read about on an old Bridalwave post. It’s very easy to use – you design and create an invite which is emailed out to your guest list, and the recipient is able to click a button to instantly RSVP.
It also creates you a wedding website to hold all the normal invite information like addresses, hotel details, taxi numbers and Google maps to the venues. There’s lots of scope for personalising the invite, and you can even upload your own photo to use (we didn’t in the end, as we found one of the stock images we really liked).
You’re notified exactly when people respond – you can even see when they’ve opened the email which is fun – so we don’t have to wait for weeks to know final numbers. It also meant we didn’t have to go through all the mind-boggling formalities of formal correct wording.
The best thing is it is completely free, and also saves a little bit of the environment too.
Obviously emailing out invites is not traditional and not for everyone, but Alex and I loved this solution and it seemed far more like us. We’ve also decided to make our thank you cards using a nice wedding photo (from Moo.com, who can make you greetings cards from your own photos).
Sending out the invites made it all seem more real – only three months to go now!
