Suit, boot and dress your wedding party for under £200 at Asda, and no we haven’t left out a 0.

Asda has just launched a wedding collection including wedding dress, two bridesmaids’ dresses and a grooms suit all for under £200.

The collection which will be available from May, includes a gorgeous wedding dress costing £60, a classic grooms suit for £40 plus a bridesmaids dress for £28 which means brides-to-be can buy the full range for £156.

According to a survey of Asda shoppers, 47 per cent of brides to be are worried about the spiralling costs of their weddings, with many putting plans on hold this year as they can’t afford all of the costs associated with the big event.

The average cost of a wedding has nearly reached an astonishing £20,000, with the wedding dress noted as the biggest expense, costing on average over £1,000 a time, a cost many brides simply cannot afford or justify for a dress only worn once.

A brand director at George, said: “We understand that the average cost of a wedding is beyond the means of many of our customers, and are pleased to be able to help ease the burden with a wedding collection designed to flatter any blushing bride.”

The three piece collection includes an elegant, strapless floor length chiffon ivory wedding dress with lace or diamante detail, two piece grooms suit, and a magenta empire line with rose detail adult bridesmaids dresses. The collection has been designed by a specialist team, dedicated to ensuring fit, fabric and style are paramount for each of the garments.

The Wedding Collection is available from May at selected Asda stores and on George.com.
