If you’re planning on a green wedding this autumn but haven’t found the ultimate wedding dress yet, perhaps you should cast your eyes on US eco fashion label Prophetik. The brand has been worn on the red carpet by Livia Giuggioli, owner of Eco – an ecological destination store – and wife of Oscar nominee Colin Firth, who wore one of their designs to the Golden Globe Awards earlier this winter.

Prophetik is the creation of Tennessee resident Jeff Garner, and holds an aura of nostalgia to bygone days. Its design principles and philosophies are unpretentious and it uses plant and earth based dyes for all if its colours.

While the AW11 collection, recently showcased at the London Fashion Week, was inspired by Louis XV’s French grandeur, it was the stunning white dress that stood out. The grand finale of the show, the dress – which would look amazing on any eco winter bride – is made with “peace” silk (this means that the silk has been produced without the death of any silk worms), sprinkled with ostrich feathers to make it stand out from the crowd.

Now, seeing as it’s hot off the catwalk we have no idea of what it would retail for yet. We will be sure to let you know as soon as we find out!
