It’s almost one week until we get to see Kate Middleton’s wedding dress – even before Prince William according to the latest reports! As the day comes closer the most closely guarded secret of the Royal Wedding is the cause of much speculation. Yes, we’re of course talking about who is designing Kate’s dress.

The royal bride-to-be is said to have commissioned three designers to make three dresses. Hey, better to be on the safe side! And now, the latest name to be pulled out of the  ‘royal-wedding-dress-designer’ hat is that of a relatively unknown British designer, Sophie Cranston, whose designs Kate has worn in public before.

Huffington Post’s Royal Correspondent Yvonne Yorke states that her insider sources say that Sophie Cranston of the Libélula label is the lucky designer that will be creating the most talked about dress this year.

If this is true we don’t know, but Cranston designs bespoke wedding dresses for her own Libélula label and has previously trained with Alexander McQueen and Alice Temperley – both names that have been in the spotlight for the royal appointment.

From her Dulwich, London studio, Cranston designs bespoke bridal gowns that “culminate in vintage inspired couture gowns” by taking the cut of one dress and the embroidery of another and combine it with original materials that are custom sourced for each bride.

We think her wedding dresses are stunning – take a look yourself in the gallery below.
